 Executive Coaching

Being the leader of an organization can be isolating, lonely, and stressful. A lot falls on your shoulders, and trying to support your staff and board, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive mission work forward can be a lot. Without support, this can quickly lead to frustration, overwhelm, or worse, burnout.

Consider me your cheerleader, coach, sounding board, and strategist.

Let me help you develop and implement an action plan that takes you from reactive to proactive and grow into the best leader you can be!

What to expect:

  • We’ll determine your top goals and identify what you need to accomplish them

  • We’ll meet regularly to discuss roadblocks, challenges, and your progress

  • I’ll provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental space and be your accountability partner

  • I’ll provide resources, tools, and strategies for you to work on between each session

  • Email and phone support between sessions

Customize your experience:

  • Choose one or more of your priority focus areas: fundraising, leadership development, board management, or staff management, DEI, trauma-informed supervision, or other

  • Choose your session frequency (weekly, every other week, monthly, or one-time)

  • Choose your contract length (month-to-month, 6 months, or 12 months)

  • Choose your preferred meeting format (video meeting, audio-only, or in-person)

My coaching sessions with RPN Strategies were the best thing that happened for me as an executive director this last year. RPN’s perspective and experiences were so helpful in guiding me through some difficult personnel situations.

Rebecca is very knowledgeable, thorough, and well-prepared. She’s very thoughtful and kind as a coach, giving good advice and helping me figure it out for myself when I’m being lazy!”

Interim Executive Leadership

Nonprofit leadership transitions can be difficult – and Executive Director leadership transitions are even more challenging. It can take time, effort, and money to find the right leader for the next chapter of your organization’s journey. (Especially if the transition was unexpected or unplanned!) Until the right person is found, you need a captain.

Let me step in, take the helm, and keep your organization moving forward while your team searches for the right long-term leader.

What to expect:

  • After an initial assessment period, I’ll be ready to step in and help in all levels. From directly managing, supervising, and supporting staff, to assisting the board in your ED search, to managing dropped major donor relationships, to being the public face of your organization to your community stakeholders, I’m ready to help.

  • I will apply everything I’ve learned from the multiple times I have served as an Interim Executive Director myself, ranging in time from 7 months to 1 and a half years.

Customize your experience:

  • Choose your contract length (month-to-month, 3 months, or 6 months)

  • Choose your service model (part-time or less than part time)

Rebecca’s insight into human behavior is both realistic and compassionate. As an interim ED (and my supervisor), a trainer, and as a strategic plan facilitator I found her to offer sound advice, be a good listener, and have an excellent sense of humor. Most importantly, however, as an interim ED, she has the skills and the deep commitment to support and lead an organization - both the entity itself and the staff/board who are it’s heart - during crisis or change, so that the vision thrives and the mission continues to be robustly fulfilled.

Board Governance

Whether you’re a board member yourself, or a nonprofit staff member who works closely with a board of directors to get work done, we can all agree that nonprofit governance can be a challenge. Without focus, training, and support, the relationship between staff and board can become muddy. Building trust and collaboration is key – let me help foster a good working relationship between your organization’s executive director and board members.

Consider me your board member whisperer and liaison!

Let me help staff, board members, and board committees get clarity on how best to organize, delegate, and get work done.

What to expect:

  • We’ll do an initial assessment to determine what’s working, what isn’t, and your goals

  • We’ll create a custom plan for helping your board and staff work together and stay focused

  • I’ll provide in-meeting support as well as between-meeting guidance

  • Regular check-in meetings to discuss progress, roadblocks, and next steps

Customize your experience:

  • Choose your service model (one-time training, multi session board bootcamp, or retainer)

  • Choose your desired meeting frequency (30, 60, or 90 minutes)

Rebecca provided invaluable support to our organization. She was able to quickly understand our needs, not only addressing actions that needed to be taken care of but also proactively suggesting things we as a board should think about doing. Rebecca communicated clearly, was very well organized, and demonstrated a depth of knowledge in managing non-profits and working with a board. She developed an easy rapport with the staff and board and was a true pleasure to work with.
